This is our favorite hands-on science museum in North America. Just eclipsing the Exploratorium in San Francisco. |

Review: by Dad
We've only been here twice, only once with the kids, and this place is just amazing. With the kids we arrived 1 hour after it opened, and left 20 minutes before closing, and we still missed one whole floor. There is so much to do here it is incredible.
My personal favorite is the bridge exhibit. My dad was in bridge design for the State of Michigan for over 30 years. We stopped at every important bridge we crossed, so this exhibit had my name written all over it. The exhibit actually has bridges in a two story space that you can walk on and stand below to watch the stresses on the structure. It is fascinating.
The boys spent a lot of time trying to break a piece of saftey glass with a bowling ball pendulum. Will loved the plasma ball. They also spent a lot of time playing with the exhibit on hot air balloons.
The theater is always interesting, and if you get a chance to see a show with one of the staff, definitely do it. We went to two of them, with one being the obligatory Vandegraff generator show. (If your kids have fine-textured hair, make sure they participate!)
This is a very family-friendly museum, and unlike many hands-on science museums, the exhibits have varied age ranges, with enough to keep even the older kids interested. You will find anything your family needs including food.
If you are a little short on money, you may just want to go spend some time in front of the museum. They have enough exhibits out there for free to keep you busy for an hour. They were some of the favorites of our boys.
While in Toronto, if you have the time, you owe it to yourself to go to both the Toronto Zoo and the Royal Ontario Museum.
